Grant Bates - Creator
Grant has been a crypto hobbyist since he bought and sold his first Bitcoin in 2014. However, it wasn't until the great bull run of 2017 and the scary year after that he cut his teeth in all things crypto. It was in 2018 when he first noticed a crypto project called SteemMonsters. Regretfully he didn't enter into the fray. A few takeovers and forks later he dusted off his HIVE account and purchased his first Splinterlands spellbook in late 2020. Since that time he has put together quite the collection and can regularly be found on the top 200 'richlist.' Soon after becoming heavily invested Grant began developing blog content, livestreaming and partnered with Splinterlands developers to secure funding and developed the Splinterlands Fandom wiki. He also started the NewBoost initiative organizing the community to help new players with card delegations, airdrops NFT raffle entries. To date the NewBoost program has given out over $15,000.
Now his eyes are set to developing tools to help out players even more while at the same time exploring new areas of opportunity. For now Splinterlands is a passion and profitable side hustle for Grant. He's happily employed as a Digital Marketing Manager for a top 100, Fortune 500 company. In his personal life he's happily married to his extremely patient and loving wife and the proud father of a vivacious little girl who he hopes to train in the art of battle when she's old enough.
